When the Kingdom of God comes near
It comes with disturbance
It comes with questions
It comes with narrow paths
Few but dare to tread
It comes with music
Follow and dance with us
You have to leave everything behind
To experience this deep abiding love
The Kingdom of God comes near
It’s not a soapy soft option
It’s more like walking past a walled garden
Wafts of perfume float over to you
You can’t have it all yet
But you grow to know its presence
When the Kingdom of God comes near
Droplets of joy fall from heaven
I will put away the umbrella
I will fold away the coat
For when the Kingdom of God comes near
In it, I want to soak
I will focus on tasting a single drop
Dancing on my tongue
For when the Kingdom of God comes near
I want to taste angels fun
Deep focus is my call
The Christ gowns hem to be shown
I will notice the sunrise colours of his delight
As the Kingdom of God comes near
Barry Pearman
Whenever you enter a town and its people welcome you, eat what is set before you; cure the sick who are there, and say to them, “The kingdom of God has come near to you.”
But whenever you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say, “Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has come near.” Luke 10:8-11

- What does it take to taste a drop of rain on your tongue?
