I've Been Heard

I’ve Been Heard

I’ve been heard

I’ve been heard
I’ve been held
I’ve been known
Quiet words to mend and weld

They opened up
Wide encompassing wings
Come in my child
Broken world broken wings

Grace flowed into justice wounds
Anointing oil
Inner room

Dare I venture back outside
Stay my child
Rest awhile

Death lays it’s ugly snares
Let’s trap this soldier
Throw him into despair

He turns his head
He hears my call
He leaves the ninety nine
My plea is his all in all

He lifts me up
From the darkest hole
Carry’s me home
On shoulders ancient old

They heard me
They found me
They brought me back
To the land of the living

Psalm 116:1-9

I love the Lord, because he has heard
    my voice and my supplications.

Because he inclined his ear to me,
    therefore I will call on him as long as I live.

The snares of death encompassed me;
    the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;
    I suffered distress and anguish.

Then I called on the name of the Lord:
    ‘O Lord, I pray, save my life!’

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
our God is merciful.

The Lord protects the simple;
    when I was brought low, he saved me.

Return, O my soul, to your rest,
    for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

For you have delivered my soul from death,
    my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling.

I walk before the Lord
in the land of the living.

Psalm 116:1-9

Luke 15:3-7

So he told them this parable:

‘Which one of you, having a hundred sheep and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it?

When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders and rejoices.

And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbours, saying to them, “Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.”

Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance. Luke 15:3-7
