Someone dies by suicide. We have questions.
Some questions may never get the answered. How do we cope with that?
This last year I had someone I knew take their own life. It left my community with lots of questions.
So I published a survey through Turning the Page about suicide and the questions people have.
I had quite a few responses.
Some of them are listed below.
I have decided to run a class where I will do my very best to answer some of them.
This is not a class where I am not go be discussing how to take one’s own life, but more so about the questions that are left behind.

Some of the questions I hope to cover.
- Could I have done more?
- How did I miss their unwellness?
- Why did they do this?
- Do they go to ‘Hell’?
- How do I recover after someone I loved has taken their own life?
- Do they not understand the grief they will cause their loved ones?
- Why do people get to that place of desperation?
- Is the darkness so dark that not even God can let a little light shine through and offer hope?
- If someone has been suffering for so long, why is it so tragic if they’re going to be ‘better off’?
- Is suicide basically saying I’m ready to leave this world?
- When you look at it, life is pretty pointless. In reality, I’m just waiting to die, so why not suicide?
- Should you tell the person that they were the reason that you didn’t go through with suicide? Was it God that put this person in my mind just at the right moment?
- Why have so many people I’ve known died by suicide?
- If suicide is not the answer, how does a “broken” person get back from rock bottom that seems to be never-ending?
